Youth Kindness Conference
Students and staff at the St. Gabriel School held a conference to spread mental health awareness. Both students and teachers realize how important this knowledge is for everyone. “For so many students, they don’t know where to turn for help. Also, many times youth don’t talk about their feelings or what they are doing, until they know that they are safe and surrounded by help or that they know that someone else is going through, or went through the same things,” says Demonda Evanisky the Teacher that helped put together the event.
The Kindness Conference was created to help implement coping mechanisms and a supportive culture. Some of these tools are going for walks, listening and/or playing music, doing artwork and journaling. Several guest speakers came and helped educate and entertain the students.
