Kindness in Character Strong
St. Catherine School utilized the Be Kind Online Grant to complete three acts of kindness. Firstly, they donated books to another classroom to help ensure more children have access to reading materials. This initiative aimed to foster a love for reading among students and provide them with the resources they need to succeed academically.
Secondly, they created warming packages that included mittens, a toque, and hot chocolate. Each package came with a message encouraging recipients to “pass it on” if they already had these supplies. This thoughtful gesture was designed to spread warmth and kindness during the colder months.
Lastly, they provided hot chocolate to members of their community. This act of kindness was intended to bring warmth and joy to the community, especially during the winter season.
“These projects have been especially impactful in their community, where poverty is a significant challenge. Many children come to school without proper winter clothing or books at home. By providing these items to entire classrooms, St. Catherine School ensured that no one felt singled out and that every student had an opportunity to feel special”—Megan Lueck, Teacher at St. Catherine School.
