Youth Group

Queer Connections YQR’s Youth Group has spent the past year making a positive impact in their community. They offer a welcoming, non-judgmental space for queer youth to connect, express themselves through art, music, drag, and sewing, and to discuss daily challenges.

The group runs a monitored Discord server so members can stay in touch and access resources, even from outside Regina. They also launched a queer library to celebrate queer identities and fight misinformation, and provide a no-cost, gender-affirming clothing program for those in need.

Community building is at the heart of their work. They organize events like Trans Day of Remembrance, drag shows, and art nights. Their kindness also extends beyond their group; they have volunteered at local events including supporting the Lakeview Community, the CIBC Run for the Cure, and the Queen City Marathon.

Through these ongoing efforts, Queer Connections YQR’s Youth Group continues to spread kindness and foster inclusion for all.
