Reconciliation Through the Eyes of Children
North Park Wilson School has been showing kindness, generosity, and cultural awareness to their community. They have done different activities to appreciate and respect the people and organizations that support them and their goals. The children have also learned valuable skills and knowledge from a local Elder at the Saskatoon Metis Friendship Center.
The activities that the North Park Wilson School has done include caroling to their community partners, serving lunch and care packages to the elders at the Indian Metis Friendship Center, making snowshoes with their Elder Sanford Strongarm, and making lunch for the clients at the Indian Metis Friendship Center. They still have more plans to do more community work, such as: delivering Random Act of Kindness greetings around the city and organizing a family day to honor the families. The students will also meet Senator Nora Cummings (Metis elder) and Senator Arnot (former head of the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission). North Park Wilson Students are proud of their community work, and they hope to inspire others to do the same.
