The Gender and Sexuality Alliance at Riffel High School

The Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA) at Riffel High School has been running for three years now. What started as a space for 2SLGBTQIA+ students to socialize, support, and celebrate their identities has grown into a group that wants to fundraise, spread awareness, and have fun.

This year, the GSA aims to expand its fundraising and awareness capabilities while providing opportunities for members to gather and have fun together. The GSA empowers students to be themselves and provides a safe space for them to gather without fear of judgment. Through fundraising, the GSA is able to donate funds to Lulu’s Lodge, a local non-profit organization that provides housing for homeless 2SLGBTQIA+ youth.

The GSA promotes safer spaces for people to be themselves and supports representation of 2SLGBTQIA+ people in society, media, and government. The GSA was able to create a rainbow walkway for the school and write messages of kindness surrounding it.

The GSA at Riffel High School is making a difference in the lives of its members and the community, and we look forward to seeing what they will accomplish in the future.
