Turtleford Community School Art and Diversity Club
Turtleford Community School has done some amazing work in creating a safe and inclusive space for its students. The Diversity Club and the Student Art Club have collaborated to create some amazing artwork to adorn the school’s walls, sidewalks, and outdoor space.
One of the projects includes large sketches and paintings made by a Grade 10 student. These 5 feet x 4.5 feet tall paintings showcase the diverse opportunities the school’s students have, including an artist, a hockey player, a drama student, and a volleyball player. These paintings were mounted on primed canvas and painted by students from grades 5 to 12.
The Art Club and Diversity Club have also collaborated to create and paint “Kindness Rocks” that were placed around the community, and a Pride flag painted on the sidewalk leading to the main entrance of the school. These projects serve as a reminder of the importance of kindness, inclusion, and diversity in the school and community.
